INSULATION REMOVAL

Old Insulation Removal for Metro Atlanta Homes

Before any spray foam goes in, the old stuff has to come out. We vacuum-remove contaminated, compressed, and outdated insulation completely — the right way, every time.

THE PROBLEM

Why You Can't Just Spray Foam Over Old Insulation

It's tempting to think of insulation removal as an optional add-on — but skipping it is one of the most common mistakes in this industry, and it's one we refuse to make.

Old insulation traps what's underneath it. Moisture, mold spores, rodent droppings, and years of dust don't go away when you spray foam on top — they get sealed in permanently, hidden under a layer you can't inspect again without tearing it back out.

It defeats the purpose of a vapor barrier. Closed-cell spray foam acts as its own vapor barrier. Layering it over old fiberglass or cellulose — which have very different vapor permeability — can create moisture problems between the layers instead of solving them.

It hides problems you need to know about. A dirty, compressed, or infested attic is often the first sign of bigger issues — a roof leak, a pest entry point, ventilation problems. Removing the old material means we see your attic's real condition before we seal anything.

If a contractor offers to spray foam directly over your existing insulation without removing it first, that should be a red flag, not a cost-saving feature.

THE SOLUTION

Complete, Clean Removal — Every Time

We use a commercial-grade vacuum system to remove 100% of your existing insulation, bag it, and haul it away. No shortcuts, no partial removal, no leaving contaminated material behind corners or hard-to-reach spots.

THE PROCESS

01.

A Thermal Camera Inspection

Before any work begins, we assess your attic with a thermal imaging camera and show you exactly what condition your current insulation is in — visually, on the spot. No charge, no obligation.

02.

Full Site Protection Prep and Setup

We protect the areas of your home the crew will pass through — flooring, stairwells, doorways — before any equipment comes inside. Your home stays clean throughout the job.

03.

Commercial Vacuum Removal

Our industrial vacuum system removes all existing insulation material — fiberglass batts, blown cellulose, or old foam — completely from your attic, walls, or crawl space. Nothing gets left behind.

04.

Bag, Haul, and Dispose

All removed material is bagged on-site and hauled away for proper disposal. You don't need to arrange anything — cleanup is included in the job. If your ductwork was affected by the old insulation, we also offer HVAC duct repair and sealing, and if evidence of rodent activity is found, decontamination of the affected area — both quoted separately based on what we find.

05.

Attic Inspection and Next Steps

With the attic fully cleared, we inspect the space for any issues the old insulation may have been hiding — moisture staining, pest activity, ventilation problems — and walk you through what we find before recommending next steps, including spray foam application if you're moving forward with a full retrofit.

WHY IT MATTERS

What a Clean Removal Gets You

  • No contaminated material trapped under new insulation

  • A clear view of your attic's actual condition — leaks, pests, ventilation issues

  • A clean surface ready for spray foam to bond and perform properly

  • No lingering odors, allergens, or dust circulating through your home

  • Peace of mind that the job was done right, not just covered up
